Locum Tenens: Hematology and Oncology Physician
Location: Near Philadelphia, PA
Dates: ASAP - Ongoing
We are seeking a board-certified Hematology and Oncology Physician for a locum tenens position near Philadelphia, PA. This opportunity offers a flexible full-time schedule in an outpatient setting. You'll be joining a team dedicated to delivering high-quality care to patients facing cancer and blood disorders. The role includes patient consultations, treatments, and occasional call coverage.
Position Overview:
- Position Type: Locum Tenens
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: Ongoing (with a minimum 6-month commitment required)
- Full-Time Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Practice Setting: Outpatient
- Call Coverage: 1 day per week, with two weekends of call over a 3-month period
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert consultation and treatment for patients with hematological and oncological conditions
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create individualized care plans for patients
- Handle a patient volume of 10-20 per shift
- Participate in call coverage 1 day per week and specified weekends as needed
- Use the Epic EMR system to maintain accurate and timely patient records
Qualifications:
- Board Certification: Required (Hematology and Oncology)
- License: Must hold an active Pennsylvania medical license
- Certifications:
- ABLS: Required
- ACLS: Not required
- BLS/PALS: Not required
- Fellowship: Not required
- Temporary Privileges: Available for quick onboarding
Facility and Practice Details:
- EMR System: Epic
- Hospital Privileges: Required
- Admissions: Yes, admissions are required
- Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 90 days
- Hospital Certification: Stroke Certified facility
- Weekend Call: Required for two weekends over the coverage period (, 10/25 and 11/29)
- Potential Start Date: May need to move up to September 16, 2024, due to an anticipated leave of absence
